The most popular things last year are those that are literally handy such as an electronic book reader. No wonder the latter has also become the number one gift item among everyone's list during those past holiday seasons. Without a doubt, such wireless device is well-loved by all-regular readers or not. Nowadays, eBook Reader Product Comparison shows three top competitors in terms of popularity in the market.

It was Amazon that first introduced to everyone the online bookstore. It allows people to shop conveniently at the comfort of his or her home, eliminating the hassles that come along when you have to go out and rush to the store just to buy that desired book. The next thing that Amazon did was to make a remarkable innovation in the world of reading by creating its initial eBook reader, the Kindle, which was eventually followed by the second edition which is packed with more additional features, the Kindle 2.

How does the second differ from the first? Physically, the second Kindle looks slimmer, faster, and smarter than the initial Kindle. For those who are fond of downloading stuffs, you will surely love this device for having the ability to download as fast as you want it to be. That's not all. Kindle 2 is also designed to possess such an improved E-Ink display, its own dictionary, and a memory that is capable of storing thousands of your favorite books, plus you can subscribe to magazines, newspapers, and blogs too.

A text-to-speech feature is also included in that Amazon Kindle 2 device. Some things were also changed from the actual appearance of that original Kindle where the second one was based. Since page-turning has been an issue in the first version, the second Kindle has Next Page keys that are made smaller and inward-facing so that accidental page-turning will be avoided. It also has a Home button that will basically allow you to quickly access its home screen, two stereo speakers and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Another improvement was done on its QWERTY keyboard that is now rounded and is good for making notes, searching, typing-in web addresses, and in doing other applications. The space bar is also placed in front and center this time. No matter how these eBook readers are competing for the market share, things will still happen according to the needs and wants of the users. Thus, no one will actually win such competition. Therefore, consider things like the number of times you read, the place where you like to read, and the number of books you bought in the past year for they can be your basis in choosing which eBook reader is for you.
